With over 23 years of medical experience, Bomberger has held various legislative and managerial positions prior to joining AOSSM. He has served with: the American Society of Internal Medicine; American Medical Association; Smith Bucklin & Associates; and Society of Gynecologic Oncologists. He is active in a number of professional organizations and presently serves as chair of the Joint Commission on Sports Medicine and Science.

Bomberger holds a B.A. in Political Science, and a secondary education certificate from Goshen College.
